Ladies and gentlemen,

It is a great pleasure for me to attend the launching event of AnadoluJet, which is a Turkish Airlines trademark.

As I always emphasize, relations between Turkey and Kuwait are booming in all terms, under the guidance of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah and His Excellency President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

As the Turkish Ambassador in Kuwait, it is my utmost duty to strengthen these relations further. While doing so, I attach special importance to improving economic and cultural relations, which unfortunately, do not stand on par with the existing splendid political relations.

In our efforts to this aim, tourism plays the engine role. I am glad that the tourism figures are already promising. More than 374 thousand Kuwaitis visited Turkey last year. I am proud to say that our Kuwaiti friends rank first in the tourist number visiting Turkey, compared to the country’s population.

Tourism will be a much more encouraging field that both Turkey and Kuwait benefit. Therefore, we want more Turkish tourists visiting Kuwait, too.

As you would agree, transport sits at the heart of tourism activities. Within this framework, airline companies need to have a leading role.

In that sense, I am happy that AnadoluJet joins the club to have scheduled flights between Turkey and Kuwait.

As announced, AnadoluJet will be operating all its international flight operations from Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport from March 29, 2020.

Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport, which hosted 35,5 million passengers in 2019, offers easy access to not only Istanbul center, but also neighboring cities like Izmit and Bursa. I do emphasize it, because many Kuwaiti friends own houses in Izmit, Bursa or Sapanca. So, Sabiha Gökçen Airport provides very convenient location for their travels.

Furthermore, having 26 routes in 16 countries in AnadoluJet flight network will be another advantage.

Of course, most importantly, AnadoluJet will be providing convenient and comfortable travel experience with the assurance and quality of Turkish Airlines, yet at reasonable prices.
I personally flew with AnadoluJet in Turkey for domestic trips many times and now I am very happy to see them starting their flight operations in Kuwait. Therefore, I would like to congratulate AnadoluJet once again for its decision to start flights between Turkey and Kuwait. I hope it will contribute to our efforts to make Kuwait and Turkey more attractive destinations.
