It is a great honour and pleasure to welcome you to the National Day Reception of the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye.

It is my first National Day Reception as the new Turkish Ambassador. It is also the Embassy’s first National Day Reception since 2019, due to the pandemic. Therefore, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to you all for being with us today to share our joy and pride.

Salgın nedeniyle iki yıl aradan sonra gerçekleştirebildiğimiz ve yeni Büyükelçi olarak ev sahipliği yaptığım ilk Milli Gün Resepsiyonumuzda bizleri yalnız bırakmadığınız için sizlere şükranlarımı arz ediyorum.

Büyükelçiliğimizin kapılarının siz değerli vatandaşlarımıza her zaman açık olduğunu bu vesileyle de vurgulamak istiyorum.

We are celebrating the 99th anniversary of the proclamation of the Republic of Türkiye.

When the First World War ended, the intention and the goal of the Turkish national struggle was to provide and maintain complete independence and unconditional sovereignty. It was achieved, and crowned with the proclamation of the Republic.

We remember with deep respect and gratitude our fallen heroes and war veterans. We commemorate with deep gratitude the leadership of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of the Republic.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

As we steer towards celebrating the centennial of the Republic, we are proud of what we have achieved since 1923. Türkiye has undergone comprehensive and far-reaching political, economic and social reforms, which transformed her into a democratic and modern nation.

Türkiye’s successful transformation is also visible in its enterprising and humanitarian foreign policy. We pursue a pro-active and multi-dimensional foreign policy in our region and beyond that proves itself in the recent crises we have faced.

A strong Türkiye means a guarantee for sustainable peace and development and a driving force for all surrounding basins.

The relationship between Türkiye and Kuwait has reached an exemplary level under the guidance of His Excellency President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and His Highness the Amir Sheikh Nawaf. It is not only government-to-government, but also one of the strengths of our deep-rooted relations is the people-to-people relations.

I am happy on the steady development of cooperation between Türkiye and Kuwait. Alhamdulillah, it grows stronger in tourism, cultural, commercial, economic, educational, and other fields.

Kuwait is one of the countries that send most citizens to Türkiye as tourists. Tourism positively affects trade and investment as well.

Türkiye-Kuwait bilateral trade figures are on the rise.

Kuwaitis are also among the top foreign buyers of property in Türkiye.

We are also trying to develop multidimensional cooperation in critical areas, such as defense industry, technology, aviation, healthcare and education.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

There is still a wide cooperation potential ahead of us. Therefore, as the new Turkish ambassador, I will be trying hard to deepen our relations with Kuwait in every field. Of course, our achievements will only be possible with your continuous support.
