It is a great honour and pleasure to welcomeyou to the National Day Reception of the Embassy of the Republic ofTürkiye.

It is my first National Day Reception as thenew Turkish Ambassador. It is also the Embassy’s first National Day Reception since2019, due to the pandemic. Therefore, I would like to express my sinceregratitude to you all for being with us today to share our joy and pride.

We are celebrating the 99th anniversaryof the proclamation of the Republic of Türkiye.

When the First World War ended, the intentionand the goal of the Turkish national struggle was to provide and maintaincomplete independence and unconditional sovereignty. It was achieved, andcrowned with the proclamation of the Republic.

We remember with deep respect and gratitude ourfallen heroes and war veterans. We commemorate with deep gratitude the leadership of Mustafa KemalAtatürk, the founder of the Republic.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

As we steer towards celebrating the centennialof the Republic, we are proud ofwhat we have achieved since 1923. Türkiyehas undergone comprehensive and far-reaching political, economic and socialreforms, which transformed her into a democratic and modern nation.

Türkiye’s successful transformation is also visible in its enterprising and humanitarian foreign policy. We pursue a pro-active andmulti-dimensional foreign policy in our region and beyond that proves itself inthe recent crises we have faced.

A strong Türkiye means a guarantee for sustainable peace and developmentand a driving force for all surrounding basins.

The relationship between Türkiye and Kuwait hasreached an exemplary level under the guidance of His Excellency President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and His Highness the Amir Sheikh Nawaf. Itis not only government-to-government, but also one of thestrengths of our deep-rooted relations is the people-to-people relations.

I am happy on the steady development of cooperationbetween Türkiye and Kuwait. Alhamdulillah, it grows stronger in tourism,cultural, commercial, economic, educational, and other fields.

Kuwait is one of the countries that send mostcitizens toTürkiye as tourists. Tourism positively affectstrade and investment as well.

Türkiye-Kuwait bilateral trade figures are on therise.

Kuwaitis are also among the top foreign buyers ofproperty in Türkiye.

We are also trying to develop multidimensionalcooperation in critical areas, such as defense industry, technology, aviation,healthcare and education.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

There is still a wide cooperation potential ahead ofus. Therefore, as the new Turkish ambassador, I will be trying hard to deepenour relations with Kuwait in every field. Of course, our achievements will onlybe possible with your continuous support.
