Assalamu Aleikum,

I extend a warm and hearty welcome to all of you who
have honored our invitation to this special meeting. I would like to thank, in
your presence, Mr. Saleh Al Salmi for his kind cooperation in organizing this
event, and everyone who contributed to the organization for bringing us
together here today.

Valued guests, as you all know, investment and
commercial ties lie at the center of our excellent political relations with
Kuwait, which have reached an exemplary level under the guidance of President
Erdoğan and H.H. Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. As the Turkish
Embassy, we work very hard to improve these ties by encouraging investors from
both Turkiye and Kuwait to put effort and finance into high-value projects that
would benefit both countries.

In this respect, I believe both Turkiye and Kuwait
stand at a critical juncture as they look to future directions for their
respective economies in the face of ever-changing global dynamics and
never-ending geopolitical challenges. Turkiye recently announced the start of
the 'Century of Turkiye', as unveiled by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, with a
comprehensive roadmap to build a stronger, more prosperous Turkiye as we head
into the second century of our Republic. President Erdoğan announced that
Turkiye’s focus in the new era will be on continuing the growth of the Turkish
economy through investment, production, export, and employment. To this end, we
adopted a fresh perspective on economic management that concentrates on
financial stability through new monetary policy instruments.

Kuwait, on its part, is set on a transformative
journey with Vision 2035, which is designed to build a new Kuwait as a regional
investment powerhouse, with a developed and sustainable economy. We believe
mutual investments between our countries can contribute to these ambitious
visions through sustainable projects that would create new jobs, develop new
infrastructure, and boost productivity by sharing new technologies and skills.
We see that the value of Kuwaiti investments in Türkiye has reached 2 billion
dollars and is mainly concentrated in finance and real estate. When we take
into account the cultural, historical, and religious ties that we enjoy, and
the capacity of the two countries, this value falls far behind the actual
potential. Not only that, I believe it is also high time to diversify Kuwaiti
investments in Türkiye.

Esteemed guests, Türkiye's economic performance during
the pandemic and global financial crisis proved that its diversified economy is
robust and resilient. Apart from that, Türkiye has a well-developed industry in
a variety of areas. As you are aware, the developments in the Turkish defense,
automotive, and other high-tech sectors are amazing and are being watched with
admiration all over the world. We have just introduced our first electric car
called TOGG. We unveiled our first unmanned combat aircraft, Kızılelma. These
are just a few examples of our great production capacity and technical
expertise that can be seen in almost all aspects of the industrial sectors,
including heavy ones. We have succeeded a lot thanks to the initiatives and
support of His Excellency President Erdogan. I assure you that Türkiye will
have a more powerful economy than ever in the upcoming years and those who can
read and evaluate the new economic policies of Türkiye well can take the lion’s
share in the future.

Distinguished guests, I would like to highlight that
as the Turkish Embassy, we will be at your full service in supporting any
initiatives to further develop Turkey-Kuwait investment relations. By combining
our strengths, we can build a model partnership that will be a success story to
emulate.

Before concluding my remarks, I would like to touch
upon the grave humanitarian tragedy unfolding in Gaza. We believe that the only
way to achieve sustainable peace in the region is to solve the Palestinian
issue with a just and reasonable settlement that considers the rightful
aspirations of the Palestinian people, including the establishment of an
independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its
capital.
