Interactive Exhibition of Turkish Traditional Arts and Handicrafts
H.E.
Dr. Mohammad Al Jassar, Secretary General of the National Council for Culture,
Arts and Letters (NCCAL),
Distinguished
guests,
Ladies
and gentlemen,
Good evening.
It is a distinct pleasure to welcome you this evening,
as we join hands with NCCAL to present the Interactive Exhibition of Turkish
Traditional Arts and Handicrafts, held in honor of Kuwait’s designation as the
2025 Arab Capital of Culture.
This event is more than an exhibition — it is a
celebration of cultural diplomacy, where art becomes a universal language and
creativity serves as a bridge between nations. Tonight, you will have the
opportunity to experience five exquisite forms of Turkish traditional art:
- Calligraphy (Khatt)
- Water Marbling (Ebru)
- Ceramics
- Miniature Painting (2D)
- Illumination (Tezhip)
Each of these art forms, performed live by master
Turkish artists, carries centuries of heritage and reflects the soul of our
culture. Through the intricate lines of calligraphy, the graceful flow of water
marbling, and the delicate patterns of illumination, we share not only our
craftsmanship but also our cultural soul.
In addition, our gathering tonight follows a milestone
moment in Türkiye–Kuwait relations. The official visit of H.E. President Recep
Tayyip Erdoğan to Kuwait on 21 October 2025, upon the gracious invitation of
His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, has once again
reaffirmed the enduring friendship and shared vision of between our two
nations.
Hence, this exhibition stands as a cultural reflection
of this renewed spirit of partnership.
Esteemed
Guests,
Promotion and facilitation of the exchange of
knowledge in studies and artistic endeavors relating to the Islamic civilization
and Muslim cultures holds special place in the lives of Muslim people as an
authentic shared element of their traditions. These artistic traditions are not
merely decorative; they are expressions of faith, identity, and continuity
cherished across generations and borders.
For over six decades, Türkiye and Kuwait have nurtured
ties built on mutual respect, shared values and an unwavering commitment to
peace, stability and progress. Today, our cooperation extends far beyond
politics and economics — it flourishes in the realm of culture, where hearts
and minds meet through beauty and creation.
I would like to extend my heartfelt appreciation to
H.E. Dr. Mohammad Al Jassar, Secretary General of NCCAL, and his esteemed team
for their unwavering support and collaboration in bringing this event to life.
I also wish to express my sincere gratitude to our
talented Turkish artists:
- Mr. Arif Özdem
- Ms. Hüsna Kılıç
- Ms. Nurdan Öztürk
- Ms. Elif Seda Gün
- Ms. Mukaddes Çağman
Thank you for sharing your gifts, your passion, and
your dedication with us tonight.
And to our esteemed guests, thank you for joining us
this memorable evening.
May this exhibition inspire dialogue, appreciation and
friendship — as art always does, silently yet profoundly.
Thank you.
